Promo teaser for Nekrovomit’s Demonic Possession, released by Helldprod Records on limited cassette. With raw aesthetics, horror-anime visuals, and lo-fi death-thrash ambiance, the promo summons the spirit of early blackened speed metal—equal parts sonic possession and vintage fear ritual. Like Morbid Saint directed by Junji Ito on expired 35mm film.

I handled all motion animation and sound engineering for this promo. Visuals were constructed using cutout horror anime FX and analog glitch overlays. Audio mixing fused guttural FX, reversed whispers, tape hiss, and demonic ambience—custom-synced to riffs and drum blasts from the band.

Style & Visual Approach

Visual tone blends 80s horror VHS trailers, film noir dread, and Junji Ito’s animated language. Backgrounds flicker like haunted reels. Typography appears hand-drawn and unstable. Animation intentionally rough, like rotoscoped fever hallucination from a cursed tape.

Sound & Audio Effect

  • Soundtrack core: stems from Nekrovomit’s “Faces of Death” + ambient dread
  • Foley: reversed moans, clanging chains, throat growls, bell towers
  • FX design: analog tape wobble, lo-fi EQ cutoffs, distorted scream overlays
  • Intentional lack of polish to stay true to death-thrash demo vibe

Tools & Process

  • Animation: Adobe After Effects w/ frame-by-frame + glitch plugin packs
  • Sound: FL Studio + analog sample racks + Audition (dirty layering FX)
  • Asset prep: hand-cut textures, AI-upscaled manga shadows, typographic blood smears
  • Format: 1-minute widescreen + IG reels (square)
